“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4
There are times I let myself slip into worry. I find myself second guessing everything. It’s at these moments that I find myself the lowest. If I were to just heed these words and not let my heart be troubled I would okay. Sometimes I’m able to kick myself out of worry and other times I’m not, but I know that God is still there to help me work on that.
It’s pretty incredible to think that Jesus is preparing a specific place for each and every one of us. He let it be known that he will come again to take us there so that we may live with him in his Father’s house. Why do we still worry, when we know that God is in control and Jesus will take us home in the end? Why do we still fret when we have the Holy Spirit in us with power unimaginable? We’re human and doubt continues to creep in, but we must stand firm in the faith and not let our hearts be trouble by the events that are happening in this world.
Especially in today’s political atmosphere here in America, I trust in the Lord. Even though I do not know the outcome, I know the eternal outcome and that is Jesus’ victory and our resurrection in Christ. We will live in eternity with Him in his Father’s house. That is comforting and makes the day go by a little better knowing I have nothing to worry about.
