“…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phillipians 4:6-7
Paul in his letter to Phillipi was truly amazing in his ability to punch through to the point. He knew that the people there were suffering from anxiety. He knew that their only hope was God to overcome their adversity. The same applies to us today, especially in this culture of built in anxiety. Even our entertainment play into our anxiety for pleasure. They build up this tension and anxiety and then resolve it to help our mental states be subsided for a moment of escape.
If we choose to not become anxious about anything we subvert the system we sometimes become consumed with almost every day. When we choose to allow God’s strength to get us through knowing we are incapable then we allow the world to stand weak. If you sit and look at your troubles as something you have to withstand alone then they become dauntingly impossible. The moment we realize that God has our back, Egypt is escapable, Goliath is taken down by a pebble, Lions mouths are tamed, stones are dropped to the ground, and death is destroyed.
We have nothing to do with the victory except that we can celebrate in the victory. I hope we decide to pray to God so we can receive the peace that surpasses all understanding. Knowing that we are strong ONLY because He is Strong.
