For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you Titus 2: 11-15
I have come to realize that when you start acting differently in the world, people take note. They don’t know what to do, how to act, or even how to respond to you. I usually inform them to act no differently around me because I can handle anything they say. People aren’t used to ‘self-controlled, upright, and godly lives during this present time.’ I think if we were to view through a time machine past ages most people wouldn’t be able to comprehend self-controlled, upright, godly lives. Over the last 2000 years not much has changed in the development of human behavior. Nonetheless, we as followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ should follow Paul’s instruction and “Declare these things: exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.” I believe that if we all started living this out we would see a different world and our lives would change.
